Editing Videos on Your Laptop

7 Tools for Editing Videos on Your Laptop/PC

Influencers, bloggers, and vloggers make use of videos as a medium to communicate with their followers. Because people are more attracted to videos than to any other form of content.

You can choose from hundreds of tools online to edit your videos. Being a vlogger, I edit my videos all the time. Thanks to Spectrum internet customer service that does not annoy me with any downtime. Some of my favorite editing tools include:

OpenShot

Linus, Windows and Mac, all three support OpenShot. The software provides users with some of the most extraordinary features. The best part is that OpenShot does not come with a price tag. Some of the features that you will fall in love with include:

  • The option of drag and drop for desktop integration
  • Keyframe animations (curved-based)
  • 3D animated titles
  • Unlimited tracks
  • Image as well as an audio support

Apart from all the above-mentioned features, you get access to an easy to use interface. You can make the best use of OpenShot if you want to resize, trim, scale, snap or rotate your video clips. The software also supports credit scrolling, time mapping, and real-time previews. Try OpenShot before you consider purchasing any expensive video editors.

InVideo

Edit videos easily on a laptop with InVideo. It is a comprehensive, fully-featured free video editor that provides you with a variety of options to suit your project requirements. It comes equipped with a large number of tools and features that let you polish your video content in minutes to get them ready for sharing on video-sharing and social media platforms.

Here are a few amazing features of InVideo that explain why you should use it to edit your videos.

  • Customizable templates
  • Intelligent video assistant
  • Text-to-video
  • Customer support
  • Video-making tutorials
  • Cloud-based
  • No watermarks

This easy-to-use tool also makes it easy to create and edit videos for specific platforms and goals. It opens up endless possibilities to enhance the quality and impact of your video content to achieve your marketing goals faster.

VideoPad

The only operating systems that you can use VideoPad on includes Windows and Mac. If you wish to edit videos on this software for non-commercial use, you will not have to spend any dollars. Some of the features that VideoPad supports include:

  • Drag and drop
  • Transitions
  • Effects
  • Text and caption overlay
  • 3D video editing
  • Video stabilization
  • Color control

In addition to this, you can also alter your videos’ speed with VideoPad. Not only this but burning DVDs and importing music are all a click away if you download VideoPad. It supports an array of video formats apart from being easy to install as well as use.

Freemake Video Converter

The sad part is that this free video editing tool can only work on Windows. Once you get past this con, there are many likable features that Freemake Video Converter offers to the users. Some of the most prominent ones include:

  • Supports a variable number of input formats
  • Allows you to burn files to the disc directly
  • Easy to use

The easy to use editing features that do not ask of you to take a tutorial before is what makes Freemake Video converter a favorite among many. This is a noteworthy point because many video editors out there come with complex features that make it hard for users to use the software, to begin with. You can add subtitles, remove or add audio and merge videos with the help of this software.

Freemake Video Converter allows you to make minor changes to your videos apart from any major ones that you would want to. You do not have to go through the struggle of changing tools for different types of editing. A single tool allows you to convert your files to any format you wish to. It also gives you the liberty to burn files directly to a disc.

VSDC Free Video Editor

This video editor also works on Windows laptops or desktops. VSDC is a free yet full-featured video editing tool. However, a beginner might struggle with learning VSDC in the initial stages. Because the software offers a sheer number of features. But, this should not bother you as you will get acquainted with the menu and features after you play around with them for a little while.

To make things easier for you, the software includes a wizard that can be of immense help. Some of the things that the wizard can help you with include adding lines, charts, images, subtitles, animations, and audio. In addition to all this, you can also export videos to a wide range of file formats using VSDC. Some of the lovable features are:

  • Inclusion of features that you won’t find elsewhere
  • Inclusion of an optional screen recorder

iMovie

The ‘i’ before the name suggests that this software is meant for Mac users. Well, the truth is, it indeed is. You will find a huge number of editing options for both videos and audios on iMovie. Apart from that, the easy to use interface is also a bonus. However, you will only get access to a limited number of features. But what sets iMovie apart is the ability of the software to make 4K resolution movies.

You don’t necessarily have to log in from your MacBook to use iMovie. It works pretty well on iPhones and iPads as well.

Movie Maker

Movie Maker is meant for Windows only. It used to come pre-installed in all Windows desktops and laptops. However, you no longer get a pre-installed version of Movie Maker but it is easy to download it. It is a great platform for beginners who want to learn the art of video editing. Apart from that, the software is user-friendly.

If you are an aspiring filmmaker or a vlogger, you can get started with any of the above-mentioned tools.  However, make sure that you subscribe to an Internet service provider that offers blazing speed Internet. For me, Spectrum Internet plans work the best. You might ignore the Internet bit and think to yourself that what difference the speed can make. But take my word for it, the Internet speed is crucial when you are editing videos and trying to upload them.
