There is a rumor going on that Pearl Fernandez is still alive. Pearl was accused of killing her son, Gabriel Fernandez, back in 2013.

She was sentenced to 31 years for his death but the recent news states that she might be living somewhere else and may have changed her identity to hide from authorities.

If you have been following the news, you have most likely heard about Pearl Fernandez, a murder story of eight years old child in California. As mentioned above, Fernandez is a mother who murdered her own child by beating him with a baseball bat, a toxic chemical, and finally a knife. She was found guilty in 2015 and sentenced to life in prison. Now she is back in the headlines, but it is not related to the murder case.

Who is Pearl Fernandez?

Pearl Fernandez was the mother of Gabriel Fernandez, an eight-year-old boy in California, who was tortured and finally murdered by his mother Pearl.

She is not simply Pearl, but Pearl Arredondo born on November 19th, 1978. Pearl Arredondo came from Peru to live in California when she was six years old.

She grew up with her aunt’s family in East Los Angeles after her parents died while she was still young.

Due to her abusive upbringing, Pearl had trust issues that coupled with mental health problems like depression and anxiety disorder.

Pearl met Isauro Aguirre at the age of 17; he became her husband one year later but it did not last long since they filed for divorce after Pearl gave birth to their first child. Pearl met her second husband, David Camez with whom she was married for eight years until he died due to cancer in 2014.

Pearl also has two children from him before marrying Gabriel’s father Isauro Aguirre again, who is now accused of murdering his own son under Pearl Fernandez.

A Few Thoughts About The Case

Gabriel Fernandez’s mother, Pearl Fernandez, and boyfriend Isauro Aguirre are reported to be charged with first-degree murder. The eight-month-old baby’s death was termed suspicious before the coroner made it clear that he lost his life due to abuse.

Pearl Fernandez has been charged in connection with her son’s death. Despite the fact that she is his mother, some people still think that she was not involved in this horrific crime. Statement of Evidence by Deputy District Attorney Mary Murray states that Gabriel Fernandez was beaten, bruised, burned, starved, and tortured so severely that he weighed only 67 pounds when he died on May 22, 2013.

Her partner, Isauro Aguirre, was sentenced to death and sent to San Quentin State Prison. Pearl Fernandez is currently serving her time at Chowchilla State Women’s Prison.

Is Pearl still alive?

Is Pearl Fernandez still alive?  Given her age and the fact that she has been in prison for at least a decade now, there is a high chance that she may have died.

According to various news reports and websites, the child’s mother and stepfather were found guilty of first-degree murder. While the jury sentenced Isauro to death and sent him to San Quentin State Prison, Pearl was sentenced to life without parole. As per the latest update, she is imprisoned at California’s Chowchilla State Women’s Prison.

After conducting in-depth research, we could not find any evidence or proof supporting that she is still alive as there have been no recent updates about her since she was imprisoned in 2000. Hence, it is still unclear whether she is still alive or not.

However, we couldn’t find any concrete evidence supporting the same.

As per reports, she was sentenced to life without parole in 2005. She was then transferred from Paul Rein Detention Facility in California to Chowchilla State Women’s Prison.

In 2013, a report claimed that Fernandez had been beaten up by the inmates at the prison. The report also claimed that she had been attacked at least four times in prison, but was not seriously injured in any of the attacks.

However, it is still unclear whether this report is true or not.

On 2 May 2018, an article was published which stated that the police had told the media that Isauro had committed suicide inside San Quentin State Prison. However, it did not provide any more details regarding the same.

What Did Isauro do with Pearl’s Son?

Pearl Fernandez’s son, Gabriel died at the hands of Pearl Fernandez and Pearl’s partner Isauro Aguirre.

The body was covered in bruises, thermal lesions, internal injuries, and burns. Pearl’s boyfriend also forced her to watch, according to court documents that she later quoted in an interview with police. Pearl was sentenced to life without parole when she pled guilty to Gabriel’s death according to her testimony against Aguirre.

We couldn’t find any concrete evidence supporting the same.  However, there are media reports claiming that Pearl is dead or soon might be dead because she has been imprisoned since 2000 so chances are quite high. As per recent updates on Isauro Aguirre’s condition, Pearl is alive.
